Abstract This paper evaluate the influence of floor slab on the performance of RC, SRC coupling beam in core-edge part of flat plate slab structure. It is validated through FEM model using a commercial computerise analysis program. The analysis results are evaluated based on displacement, stiffness, and strain. It is investigated the beam and slab size in construction for study. The slab width at the beam-wall connection is based on KBC2009 provisions. The analysis results for the effect of floor slab suggest to be considered the effect of floor slab for coupling beam design in core-edge part of flat plate slab structure. The result of RC, SRC coupling beam in core-edge has found that increase of the slab thickness considering slabs are all effective for load-displacement, strength of coupling beams, moment?rotation angles, and strain
