Abstract Currently, the Green Building Certification System is in force amid rising global interest in environment-friendly construction. Keeping pace with the vigorous studies on the activation of Green Building Certification System, this study aims at developing BIM-based templates that will be applied to the system in this country. The BIM is defined as a system that creates and uses the systemized and consistent computerized information, which can be converted to parameters for each element that are used for design decisions, preparation of high-level construction drawings, prediction of building performance, prediction of cost and construction planning. The application of BIM may lead to the promotion of improved certification system because it provides broader approach in consideration of specific situation of users and enables to carry out information management and secure transparency, including collection and analysis of performance information. Accordingly, this study aims at proposing the GBT(Green BIM Template), which is derived from the BIM-based template and uses the decision related to evaluation items as the system basis by using the certification system.
