Abstract The voided slabs have advantages that its self-weight does not greatly increase notwithstanding the increase of its thickness and its flexural performance does not significantly decrease in comparison with normal reinforced concrete slab. However, the utilization of the voided slab is currently being underestimated in spite of structural system that enables economic design of building and construction of eco-friendly structure. Because the method of structural analysis and design for the voided slab is not established. The existing evaluation method of flexural strength of the voided slab considering only compressive zone above the voided part is conservatively evaluated. In this study, the practical compressive zone of the voided slab are considered to evaluate its flexural performance based on neutral axis location. The voided ratio is less, neutral axis location is deeper. Flexural performance of the voided slab is defined as T section is a little larger than its flexural performance that is defined as rectangular section.
