Abstract |
This paper estimates the bond performance of precast reinforced concrete beams with ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS). Bond tests proposed by Ichinose are carried out to estimate the bond performance of precast reinforced concrete beams according to replacement ratios of GGBS. A total of four specimens are designed in order to estimate the bond properties of top and bottom bars of specimens. The bond test results revealed that the specimens with GGBS showed similar bond performance compared to the specimen with Portland cements alone, regardless of the replacement ratio of GGBS. Furthermore, bond strength enhancement of the bottom bars relative to the top bars was found to be approximately 20% on average for all specimens. |
