Abstract |
The main purpose of this research was to propose a packed tower dehumidification effectiveness correlation useful for liquid desiccant integrated system design and analysis. In this research, liquid desiccant system's performance data collected from established literatures were statistically analyzed using the 2k-factorial design method. The conventional desiccant solutions; LiCl and LiBr solutions used in a packed tower type absorber were analyzed. The proposed model predicts the dehumidification effectiveness of a packed tower type liquid desiccant dehumidification unit as a function of four quantitative system operation parameters. The impact of each system operation parameters on the dehumidification effectiveness were quantitatively estimated. It was found that the proposed model can be used to predict the dehumidification effectiveness, using LiCl solution within 9%, using LiBr solution within 4%, respectively. |
