Abstract As recent buildings are getting more high-rise and larger, the fire hazard is further increased. As a result, the fire protection design of existing laws has been difficulty in coping with each kind of disaster risk. Since 2009, The Fire-Fighting System Installation Business Act was revised to implement the PBD(Performance based Design) which covers the high-rise building. Under the PBD, Fire and evacuation simulation tool are conducted to verify the safety of plan. The users of simulation tool input the information such as occupant, movement, fire behavior, etc according to the characteristics of the building. However, in case of evacuation simulation tool(SIMULEX, buildingEXODUS, Pathfinder) which is mainly used in domestic, input data is reflected occupant characteristic and kind of using the simulation tool also differ. Therefore, the result of the evacuation time will be different. In this study, common input parameters of SIMUEX, buildingEXODUS, Pathfinder are analyzed. The analyzing parameters are the number of occupant, descent speed and size of body. Each parameters were adjusted equally, and found specific value. The buildingEXODUS has high sensitivity for adjusting parameter. Especially, the parameter related CWT(Cumulative Wait Time) shows stark differences. While other simulation tools(Simulex, Pathfinder) show steady result.
