Abstract In this study, dynamic and chloride penetration of single and hybrid fiber reinforced concrete were examined in order to apply it as cement composite material. The results are as follows. First, compressive strength of single fiber reinforced concrete was lower than OPC and mixing fiber barely had influences on it. However, tensile strength was higher than OPC and improvement of strength by mixing fiber was confirmed. Second, in case of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete, its compressive strength highly improved. HFRC 2-2 and HFRC 3-1, mixed with PP fiber in the range of 0.3(% Vol) showed more than around 30% improvement in their strength compared to OPC. Third, single and hybrid fiber reinforced concrete showed chloride penetration resistance by mixing fiber. In the scope of this study, HFRC 2-2 and HFRC 3-1 mixed with 0.3(% Vol) PP fiber showed about 35% and 48% depreciation of diffusion coefficient, respectively. As the result of the study, the number of its fibers was much higher than that of other fibers. And the fibers were well distributed to the concrete without lumps as seen in the SEM photograph. So strength and chloride penetration resistance of single and hybrid fiber reinforced concrete mixed with PP fiber were most excellent with its great adhesiveness to cement matrix.
