Abstract Surface preparation, which is generally used in domestic, uses epoxy resin that has superior quality in terms of bond strength, tensile strength, and compression strength. However it should be used subject material and curing agent exactly, it has poor workability and is expensive. Furthermore, it is extremely hard to treat pinholes in case of concrete surface and it cannot be constructed under damp environment. Therefore we tested the applicability on the polymer cement mortar using EVA re-dispersible polymer powder mortar that has excellent bond strength of epoxy resin mortar and workability of polymer resin mortar through the test. Judging by the results of pinholes concealment test and rundown test, epoxy resin mortar has good workability by self leveling but it is hard to secure concealment due to high rundown. Besides, the allowable thickness of construction, for one, is too small, it might cause deflection. There are also difficulties in partial fill of pinholes as compared to polymer powder mortar. EVA re-dispersible polymer powder mortar has higher concealment force and has no material deflection. Therefore it will be expected to secure quality and have duration reduction by improvement of workability and performance at the construction field because fill performance of pinholes has been enhanced noticeably compared to epoxy resin mortar.
