Abstract Daily construction work reports is an important mean to collect productivity information involved in enacting and/or revising Construction Standard Production Unit System (CSPU), which has been used as an estimation manual for calculating the prices of public construction in Korea. However, the daily reports used by specialty contractors that perform the actual work at construction sites have different formats depending on subcontractors. Because the degree of understanding and utilization of the daily work reports formulated by specialty contractors are different, it decreases the reliability and accuracy when it is used as a source for enacting and/or revising CSPU. Succinctly, it cannot be used for collecting important work productivity data. This study develops and provides a standard data attributes and data structure for the daily work reports for specialty contractors. It examines the current state of the daily work reports used by them, identifies issues involved in using the daily work reports, and proposes a specific solution for these issues so that the daily work reports can be effectively formulated depending on the construction type in which the specialty contractors are involved and can be used as a valuable information source for enacting and/or revising CSPU.
