The purpose of this study is to make meaningful data for the planning of community villages from the viewpoint of residents. For the study, 3 community villages were comparatively analyzed on the making and settling process with their respective development characteristics. Two villages, Sanneoul village of Seochon and Baekwha village of Yeongdong, were developed by private development company with residents' participation and backed by the government program to support community village formation, and one village, Galjeon village of Sancheong, was developed without that government support program. In-depth interview and qualitative analysis of Nvivo 10.0 were the tools on the 16 households of these 3 villages. The results are as follows. First, the development characteristics accounted for the level of participation of residents in the planning process. Second, the government support program showed not only positive side, but also negative side. Residents felt dissatisfied on the common space plan without sufficient reflection of their needs. Third, residents thought difficult to communicate with neighbors in the course of settlement, but found it not so hard communicating in the common spaces. |
