Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ventilation performance of Double Window System in the mixed-use apartment by CFD simulation. The average indoor air speed and PMV are the performance indicators of the study. Indoor air speed and PMV of target building is determined and compared in each case of double window and single window. According to the preliminary analysis of the air flow transmission through each window system in the pressure difference of 10 Pa, double window system shows the larger range of airflow than the conventional project type window system. When the double window system implemented to the mixed-use apartment, indoor air speed increased to 127% in the maximum ventilation mode. In minimum ventilation mode, indoor air speed is 67% of project window system. In the respect of thermal comfort, PMV slightly reduced by 0 ~ 0.2 with the increased air flow speed by the application of double window system. These results indicate the restricted usefulness of the double window system in the respect of the occupants' thermal perception. |
