Abstract Asset-based approach might be one of the alternative for community regeneration. ABA as a regeneration approach reflects characteristics of the community. Therefore, ABA is considered a method for regenerating communities through participation of residents which strengthen their living capacity. This study shows different methods for community regeneration to identify the concept of asset-based approach. Three different asset measurement tools were analyzed in order to determining the community assets: Kretaman & Mcknight(1993)'s ABCD in America, DFID's SLA in UK(1999), and Lee et al's RA in Korea(2011). Their concepts, asset types, measuring methods, application processes, and aspects of strengths & weaknesses were analyzed and hence will be used practically as fundamental materials in order to development of measurement tools for community regeneration.
