Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the modern changes of private and public dwelling space on the Fu-long-cun village in China. Our research team had made field researches three times. And than we had drawn the village maps on the state of 1993 and 2013. Through the comparison and analysis on the two maps, we can reveal the transformations and characteristics of the Fu-long-cun village in the period of Modern age on China. And we have the conclusion as follows: On the public space, there have been changes on the outer paths and also, to be made inner paths in the traditional houses or to be broken the wall owing to build new houses. On the private space, there have been changes that the sacred space(御間) on the middle changed to the diary places for storage or communicative spaces for the dwelling people and so on. And it can to be three periodical characteristics on the change of Fu-long-cun village: those are the traditional houses of the early 20th in the dynasty of Chung, the modern houses of the middle 20th on the influence of western culture, and the last contemporary houses in the recent past.
