Abstract |
This study intends to investigate care services for the elderly in Korean society which is aging at a fast rate and suggest a system for coordinating urban infrastructure and care services. To achieve this, a few silver towns were selected for the case study. Classification of services provided to the silver town is currently the type of system that best provides care services the elderly need at once. Possible methods for coordinating this system with the elderly at home were as follows. First, coordination with home care service that brings services from urban infrastructure to the residence of the elderly. Second, coordination with urban infrastructure where the elderly are brought to receive services. Third, u-City coordination which is set up between the urban infrastructure and the residence of the elderly to connect both sides through the network. In addition, development of a regional stronghold center that can comprehensively manage all care service systems provided within the region is as important as the system for integrating services. It would be possible to manage care services properly to make sure they are not provided unfairly or overlapping one another if a system is established where the elderly can consult the services they need and receive services at once through the stronghold center. |
