Abstract Since the necessity of environmental friendly building design is not valid only as the short-term slogan of government but is more valid as the essence of architectural design and construction activity, to make environmental friendly building design manual well is important, but more than that, to establish the building material information and the specification system well should be followed and be accompanied with. For achieving this task, First, American style specification code system should be introduced under the naming specification committee in the KIRA or under the certified association with the official organization like American CSI. Second, it is recommended that building material information and specification be inter-locked with each other and that the standard specification be binded in fascicles and be disseminated in internet based digital file like KS code under the 20 numbering code system for special and construction specification's easy editing. Lastly, the attachment of environmental authorizing code on the standard specification and on the material information will be better than the preceding researchers' proposal of making environmental friendly special specification separately.
