Abstract |
The purpose of the study is to analyze physical features of circulation systems and to derive characteristics of activation on connection among circulation elements by surveying mixed-use buildings and pedestrian traffic volume. The study is performed by the following approaches. First, analyze characteristics of circulation systems focusing on connection among factors of circulation system such as path, entrance, central area, and escalator. Second, examine pedestrian traffic volume in mixed-use buildings through case studies. Third, derive characteristics of activation for efficient circulation systems by analyzing properties of circulation systems and pedestrian traffic volume. According to the study, the following conclusions were made: first, more layers should be connected to public transportation. Second, it is important to planning entrances and E/S in central area. Third, entrance-path-central area route should be simple and wide. |
