Abstract Nevertheless, 64.8% of our land is located in the hill side, apartment oriented development -which used to construct in flat land- applied to the sloped terrain without considering topographical characteristics and this brought disruption of natural landscape and environment. The solution to this problem, terrace house is the best residential type for preserving sloped terrain and makes good harmony with the surrounding landscape. Housings in Worlden Hills 1 Complex are distributed organically along the irregular contours and correspond with existing natural environment. This complex is consisting of only terrace house residential type in accordance with topographical characteristics. In this respect, Worlden Hills 1 Complex terrace house is determined as worthy of study because it is the first terrace house in Korea which emerged from existing residential format by using sloped terrain and natural landscape. First, housing distribution is linked organically in curved shape and placed in accordance with the natural landscape. Second, floor plan types can be classified into 3 types depend on the contour line. Third, according to the terrace type, people can access from everywhere and they can have their own terrace by dividing room and living room. The last, to adapt sloped topography, deploy single-story terrace house type or maisonette terrace house type in accordance with the slop angle. And furthermore, narrower angle of fan-shaped plan types applied in swirling contour to link organically.
