Abstract |
Nowadays, many environmental sculptures have been built to create beautiful and comfortable urban space by an expert group in Korea. However, there is not enough relationship on interaction and the sense of place in urban space among an expert group, environmental sculptures and users, so many of the sculptures don't satisfy aesthetic satisfaction and friendliness depending on characteristics of urban space. This shows that although an expert group like architects, sculptors, and landscape architects do understand characteristics of space, and culture and plan harmonious environmental sculptures, they don't consider users' satisfaction enough. This study aims to provide basic data on design planning directions of environmental sculptures from users' viewpoint by analyzing the results on surveys based on various kinds of environmental sculptures in the area of Jungang-ro in Daegu which were remodeled according to the Daegu Grand design project. The surveys were designed to analyze users' satisfaction on environmental sculptures, users' satisfaction of formative design components expressed on environmental sculptures, differences in satisfaction of formative design components depending on environmental sculptures, and formative design components affecting users' satisfaction. |
