Title Estimation of Elastic Modulus and Compressive Strength of Strucutral Timber using Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Method

Abstract Recently, Interest in the structure using timber and Hanok has increased, but the research of the basic physical properties of structural timber is scarce. The wood species have different organizations. Therefore, species that fits in research is needed. In this study, We were analyzed the correlation between the compressive strength and elastic modulus of structural timber using the ultrasonic pulse velocity method of non-destructive tests method. As a result, we were proposed the estimation equations of the compressive strength of structural timber with high reliability. The average error rate of elastic modulus estimation equation was 6.95% and the average error rate of compressive strength estimation equation were 9.34,10.25,12.94%.
