Abstract The study examines trends of gardening in apartment complexes which is currently making progress, and aims to draw implications for vitalizing vegetable garden within apartment complexes through survey and analysis on the sites with gardening cases that are constructed and managed in various forms. By summarizing the trends of vegetable garden in an apartment complex, firstly, it can be said that vegetable garden in an apartment complex has a good possibility to become activated by utilizing constructed spaces, facilities, and human resources. Secondly, vegetable garden in an apartment complex can be classified into three cases according to construction and management method, and they are the case that gardens constructed by a self-community, the case that gardens constructed by a local government, and the case that gardens constructed by a construction company when establishing a new complex. Thirdly, features, strengths, and weaknesses of each category appeared differently as the result of survey and analysis. It should make an effort to arrange cooperation plan of each subject's features and strengths in steps from constructing gardens to managing and supporting.
