Abstract The performance of post-installed anchors subjected to tensile loads is investigated experimentally for different concrete strengths, crack widths and reinforcement ratios. Anchors with certification for seismic retrofit are installed in concrete blocks with an artificially induced crack passing through an anchor hole. Monotonic or cyclic loading protocols are applied to specimens after opening a crack to a target width. Experimentally measured strengths are compared with nominal strengths on the certificate and design strength based on design codes. Anchor displacements at different loads are investigated to examine current design guidelines for seismic retrofit.
