Abstract By studying the insulation thickness, cost of the building, and the position and area of each window and analyze the length of the shade, it is possible to consider effective architectural design that can save energy and costs. Therefore, in this study, with the help of BIM technology, the insulation thickness of the building, the position of the windows, and the area and length of the shade, and simulated BIM-based models including weather data, and annual heating and cooling costs, the energy usage can be analyzed. Moreover, by analyzing the annual cooling and heating energy consumption due to changes in the insulation thickness for each direction, the construction costs and each direction's annual heating and cooling and construction costs could be calculated, excluding the area of the outer window. Through research, by changing the setting of conditions change and energy simulation of awnings, it is possible to change the ratio of the annual heating and cooling energy and costs. This can be utilized in architectural design by considering the low energy and cost of the other regions to change weather data. Moreover, planning large-scale buildings, if used at the design stage, cost efficiency is expected to be high for a wide outer wall area.
