Abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of space organization to activate Urban Entertainment Centers. The object is restricted to four representative Urban Entertainment Centers in Seoul. They are divided into horizontal and hybrid type in accordance with the tenants arrangement. The study was progressed through the case analysis by the records and the field survey. The result is as follows; 1)The recently constructed/reset facilities have a tendency to the increasing proportion of retailing compared to early. 2) The composition of anchor tenant has a tendency to diversify compared to early. 3) In the early days, visitors' flow has a tendency to be concentrated in some space, but now, visitors' flow has a tendency to distributed to all space. 4) Central open space in the recently constructed/reset facilities has a tendency to support various activities and has characteristics of semi-exterior space. 5) Space designed for sociopetal space help to draw power into UEC through attribute of gathering persons.
