Abstract |
The purpose of this research is to verify the validity of A-RIDE, a developed vertical transportation planning program. A-RIDE is a web-based software program that can present reasonable vertical transportation plan alternatives for high-rise buildings, based on basic building information at an early design phase. This research focused on high-rise office buildings which have a complex vertical transportation system due to heavy traffic. For verification, an object building have been selected and vertical transportation has been planned using A-RIDE. The presented vertical transportation plan and the actual plan have been compared and analyzed. Results of A-RIDE were similar to the actual plan which verifies the significance of this program as a vertical transportation planning tool for the early design phase. Through further research, this program has the potential to become a powerful design tool for architects planning high-rise buildings. |
