Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to reexamine the formation process of the Japanese translation of Architecture and to interpret the architectural issues about terminologies. The translated term of architecture was decided to Kenchiku. Because it meant architect’s services, monopoly of the term by architectural designers was intensified to come into conflict within the architectural society. Moreover, unconvincing in daily world, Kenchiku is widely used in the different shades of meaning such as construction or building. |
