Abstract |
Thermally improved spacers are widely used to reduce the heat loss through the thermal bridge in the window. They have very different characteristics in terms of composition, shape and thermal properties; however, the thermal performance criteria for thermally improved spacers is not provided in the design stage. This study proposed a method to examine the condensation prevention performance in the design stage, considering the application of thermally improved spacers. To do this, equivalent thermal conductivity of the spacer was utilized to analyze the 2-dimensional heat transfer of the window. The condensation prevention performance was evaluated with the TDR(Temperature Difference Ratio) index. Based on the simulation results, a design chart was suggested to select suitable spacers for preventing surface condensation. |
