Abstract |
Sadomyo(思悼廟) is the first established shrine to keep the late Crown Prince Sado's tablet. It was built in May 1764, but was relocated in a month in the name of Sueunmyo(垂恩廟) reducing the scale of the buildings. In this research, we investigated historical changes of architectural buildings that was built around Sesimdae(洗心臺) through literature analysis in Joseon dynasty. Early modern architectural drawings, in addition, were used to estimate the region of Sadomyo. Consequently, we confirmed that Sesimdae, Sesimjeong(洗心亭), Sesimgung(洗心宮), Sadomyo, Seonhuigung(宣禧宮) and Jesaengwon(濟生院) of Japanese Government General in Joseon was all settled in the same place. Also, with analyzing 「Gyeongmogung Gumyodo(景慕宮舊廟圖)」 and 「Sueunmyo Jeondo(垂恩廟全圖)」, we confirmed three stages of architectural construction in the figure and modified plan of Sadomyo. |
