Abstract |
In the mid-1980s, Test method of thermal resistance for windows and doors(KS F 2278) was enacted and announced as Korea Industry Standard. After several times of standard revision, it has been recognized as the representative standard for physical examination of building components until now, not only contributing improvement of energy effectiveness in building sector but also supporting the growth of related industries and markets. Because of some vague directions in the test method, some input variables (tester’s proficiency, instrumentation and control system of equipment, etc.) are applied from measured values by decision of tester. This can be a disputing point that impacts on the reliability of test method. In this research, for the purpose of evaluating the reproducibility of the thermal performance test of windows, nine window samples and two different testing equipment are utilized. The quality control of each testing equipment and testing temperature condition that were stated in the test method were analyzed and verified. Throughout nine times of independent test implementations, the authors concluded that the test result can have around ±20% errors depending on the experiment equipment and tester’s assumptions. |
