Abstract |
The first aim of the study is to explore the similarity between the thought for the RCR Aquitectes with Heidegger's later thoughts on
Fourfold. RCR Aquitectes' 'the Architecture of Equilibrium' in which the balance nature and the artificial can be described using Heidegger's
concept of the simple oneness of the four. The second purpose of this paper is to investigate into the architecture of RCR Aquitectes by
applying the idea of Fourfold to the Heideggerian thoughts of 'Building' and 'Dwelling' that respectively correspond to Fourfolding and
Fourfold. RCR Aquitectes features ‘poetic experience’ with ‘rising up of the earth’, and through this ‘poetic experience’, it captures the forest
in an architectural form. This is a equilibrium between nature and the man-made, i.e. forest and architecture. The architect's as the mortal
can be learned by exploring RCR Aquitectes’ architecture. |
