Abstract The maintenance of architectural relics has been influenced by the paradigm of the times. The recent trend in the maintenance of architectural relics is that various interpretations of its nature are being expressed. This study first considered Gadamer's philosophical Hermeneutics theory among the many factors that led to this trend. In the maintenance of architectural relics, Gadamer's Hermeneutics theory is largely reflected in three concepts. First, various interpretations are being expressed according to the individual differences between the subject and performer of the interpretation. Second, the continuity of time is being expressed to fuse the horizons of the past, present, and future. Third, the publicity of culture is applied in the concept of universality that pursues the identity of the entire human. El Born CCM and Mireuksaji are representative examples that Gadamer's Hermeneutics theory is well reflected in the maintenance of architectural relics.
