Abstract |
The aim of this study is to delve into the architectural works of Fernando Tavora, potentially considered a prototype of postmodern
architecture in Portugal. This study employs an analytical approach, scrutinizing his constructed projects and historical background to grasp
the essence of site within the Portuguese context. By investigating how Fernando Tavora seamlessly blends site considerations with his
constructed works, it clarifies the significance of this architectural integration. Moreover, it seeks to ascertain the impact of this integration on
the shaping of future architectural generations in Portugal. A comprehensive analysis revealed that Fernando Tavora’s innovative approach
stands as a prototype that paves the way for future generations of Portuguese architecture. His works transcend as a beacon of Portuguese
postmodern architecture, countering the disconnect experienced by modern architecture from its historical significance. |
