Abstract |
This study focused on applying Bi-directional CFRP strips to improve the shear contribution of CFRP strips in Reinforced Concrete (RC)
beams. Commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software was used to validate the bond capacity of the CFRP strips. The experimental
results from previous research were compared with the analysis results to verify the feasibility of using the software. A fter the verification
process, additional variables related to the CFRP layout which were not considered in the previous research were taken into account. These
variables include the CFRP layout and the anchorage of Uni-directional CFRP. The main parameters used for the analysis in this study were
strains of CFRP strips, transverse reinforcement, and the concrete surface. The analysis results showed an enhancement in bond performance
with the implementation of the Bi-directional CFRP layout. |
