Abstract This study aims to analyze the characteristics of indoor space composition and the shape of plan for urban detached house built since 2010. For the data analysis, 67 single households published in housing-related magazines from 2010 to 2023 were used. The main results of this study are as follows. 1) It was characterized by the openness-oriented composition of the public space(LDK), the settlement of the integration of the kitchen and dinning(DK), and the subdivision of the attached space in the composition of the main room were shown. 2) Vertical layer separation was dominant in public space (LDK) and private space (master room), separation of private(bedrooms) areas between generations (coupes and children) mainly occurred in the horizontal separation from the same floor. 3) The shape of the freeform was found to be effective in the first floor plane and the stacked plane shape, and deformation (addition, cutting) was more commonly applied than the basic type in all types of planes.
