Abstract |
This study evaluated the seismic performance of mass timber frames reinforced with wooden shear walls to establish a structural design
method for mid-to-high-rise wood buildings. The timber frames were reinforced with either SIP or CLT shear walls. The experiments showed
that the specimen with SIP shear walls failed in the shear walls without failure of the steel connectors. The specimen with CLT shear walls
exhibited higher structural performance but had a lower ductility ratio due to the failure of the steel connectors. The results suggest that
future studies should focus on securing the stiffness of the steel connectors between the CLT shear walls and the frame. |
