Abstract |
This study aims to develop policies that encourage more baby boomers in metropolitan areas to migrate, as well as policies that support their
settlement. The research method involved one-on-one face-to-face surveys and analysis of the results. The findings are summarized as follows.
A total of 749 respondents (74.9%) expressed willingness to move to K-CCRC. Among the 251 who were unwilling to move, the main
obstacles cited were poor conditions related to medical welfare services, job creation and employment support, and public transportation
access. Of these, 22.7% of 57 people said they would reconsider moving if these barriers were improved. Key factors to promote migration
included financial support for moving, deregulation for selling existing real estate and purchasing homes in elderly-friendly areas, and the
establishment of migration promotion and support centers. Settlement support measures focused on improving medical welfare services,
security and safety systems, public transportation access, job creation and employment support, and access to necessary information technology
for local living. Addressing these migration barriers, along with promoting migration and settlement support policies, would not only facilitate
the implementation of K-CCRC but could also increase the willingness of more people to migrate. |
