Abstract |
This study aims to propose effective supply and exhaust diffuser locations for heat recovery ventilation devices using push-pull concepts to
improve indoor air quality in apartments. CFD simulations were used to analyze the age of the air and the residual life of the air according
to different supply and exhaust diffuser locations. As a result of analyzing various supply and exhaust diffuser locations through CFD
simulation, the pollutant removal time was reduced by up to 33% when the exhaust diffuser was integrated. The method of placing the
integrated exhaust diffuser adjacent to the kitchen and the supply diffuser on the inner window of each room is found to be most effective
in removing pollutants and improving indoor air quality with a ventilation time of 1.32h. When the kitchen hood of the heat recovery
ventilation system and the exhaust diffuser were operated at the same time, contaminants actually spread. This study proposed By-pass
function, a new ventilation method that when using kitchen hood, the exhaust diffuser of heat recovery ventilation does not operate. |
