Abstract |
This study analyzed the changes in happiness levels and influencing factors of the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the
elderly aged 65 and older in Seoul. Data from the 2021 Seoul Survey and the Seoul Statistical Information System, which included 5,476
participants, were analyzed using multilevel analysis with HLM 8.2. The results of the analysis showed that among the demographic
characteristics, the younger the age, the more married, and the higher the average monthly income, the higher the level of happiness. Among
socio-environmental characteristics, higher levels of community belonging and trust, and more sources of help in times of need were
associated with higher levels of happiness. Among local environmental characteristics, the higher the satisfaction with leisure, walking, culture,
and the larger the park area per capita, the higher the happiness level. In terms of COVID-19 infection characteristics, the lower the
prevalence of covid-19 infection, the more positive the impact on the happiness level of the elderly. |
