Abstract |
This study tested high functional film on windows to explore the potential of the SWITCH Window System. Theoretical analysis showed
insulation improved by 20% and SHGC by over 50%. Physical tests confirmed an insulation improvement of 0.27 W/㎡K and an SHGC
increase of 0.1 or more. Simulation analysis for small retail stores showed cooling energy savings of around 27% for south-facing windows
and 37% for west-facing windows. However, differences emerged between theoretical and test results, which future studies will investigate.
Overall, the findings suggest that SWITCH Window Systems with eco-Film could provide year-round energy savings for various buildings. |
