Abstract |
This study evaluated the lateral stiffness contribution ratio of the Korean traditional timber building, focusing on Cheongpunggak. The main
structural components contributing to the building's lateral stiffness were classified into four categories: core wall, wood-burning wall,
wainscot board, and frame which included additional elements. The evaluation utilized two analysis methods: eigenvalue analysis and
equivalent static analysis. Both methods produced similar results with minimal differences. On average, the lateral stiffness contribution ratio
of the walls such as core wall, wood-burning wall, and wainscot board was 72.03%, while the frame contributed 27.97%. The difference
between the sum of individual structural components and the combined components was less than 6%p, indicating a relatively linear
relationship in the stiffness contribution ratio of traditional timber buildings. |
