| Abstract |
Cheongju Culture Factory and Dongbu Warehouse are significant architectural and industrial landmarks in Chungcheongbuk-do, transformed into cultural centers through urban regeneration. These buildings preserve local identity and contribute to regional economic benefits. This study examines the locality of the Culture Factory and Dongbu Warehouse through a literature review and field investigation, proposing strategies for their preservation and use. Analyzing their completion years, structures, external materials, and architectural value highlights their role as modern industrial hubs during the industrial revival period. The adaptive reuse process has shaped the Culture Factory into a center for advanced cultural industries, while the Dongbu Warehouse has become a space for civic cultural and artistic activities. To preserve these sites while maintaining their local significance, prioritizing the surrounding area's preservation and expanding its boundaries is recommended. For the Culture Factory, flexible and diverse space usage, including collaborations with nearby universities and institutions, is proposed. For the Dongbu Warehouse, integrating it with surrounding cultural heritage and facilities can enhance civic engagement while maintaining a versatile approach to its use. |
