Abstract The purpose of this study is to propose rest facilities for construction site workers in summer. In particular, it was proposed a foldable structure that can be moved and installed freely according to the size and status of the construction site and solve the summer heat through radiant cooling. Through this, it is intended to prevent heat disease accidents of construction site workers in summer and contribute to improving work efficiency. First, this study investigates and analyzes the cases of rest facilities installed at construction sites in summer. Second, it investigates the demand for rest facilities for workers in construction sites and presents a rest space plan that considers mobility and variability. In particular, an appropriate space size, structure system, and cooling system were proposed based on previous studies. Third, a prototype was produced to investigate user satisfaction with the space, and the results of the cooling performance of rest facilities were analyzed through CFD simulation.
