Abstract As buildings are becoming larger and taller, it is essential to secure fire resistance performance for steel structures as demand for steel structures increases. Although fireproofing paint and fireproofing spray paint are used as fireproofing methods applied to existing steel structures, there are many difficulties such as high costs, securing buildability, securing uniform thickness of fireproofing coating, and maintenance. To supplement this, In this study, performance evaluation was performed on the cladding column to which IFRM was applied, and the thermal characteristics of IFRM were considered and the heat transfer phenomenon of the cladding column was analyzed through analysis. And The thermal characteristics of the IFRM were considered and the heat transfer phenomenon of the cladding column was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, when IFRM is applied, it is necessary to consider the internal water content, and if there is an enclosed space inside the column, it is judged that the analysis time can be shortened by simplifying the model by applying GAPCON instead of performing CFD and FEA analysis.
