Abstract The purpose of this study is to derive factors that lower job motivation by analyzing the need ranking, job satisfaction, and job motivation level of construction manager in construction sites, and to suggest an efficient motivation plan for construction manager by seeking improvement measures. The conclusion of this study is as follows. 1) The level of job motivation of construction manager in construction sites is generally low, and in particular, the beginner and intermediate levels of technical personnel are quite low. 2) The main factors that reduce the job motivation of construction manager in construction sites are generally consistent with the items with higher needs and those that need intensive improvement, and the factors are incentives and wages, shorter working hours, benefits, opportunities to learn new things, and discretion. This study has limitations in that it has not been able to present specific improvement methods for the deterioration factors, and has limitations in that it has not been able to present methods for analyzing and improving the level of motivation for personnel in other industries such as construction companies and design offices. In the future, a follow-up study will be conducted on this.
