Abstract |
This study presents the optimal location of an outrigger system in high-rise buildings equipped with a cap truss. A schematic structural
design was performed for a 60-story building, considering key structural variables such as the presence of a cap truss, outrigger stiffness,
frame stiffness, shear wall stiffness, and outrigger height position. Based on structural analysis results, the lateral displacement of the top
floor was examined, along with the influence of each variable on the optimal outrigger location. For buildings with a cap truss, existing
methods tended to predict the optimal outrigger location 10-20% higher than the actual analysis results. In contrast, the approach proposed in
this study identified the optimal outrigger position more accurately and reasonably compared to conventional methods. |
