Abstract High-rise buildings are required to include seismic acceleration monitoring. This study developed a monitoring system using MEMS accelerometer modules and demonstrated its functionality over a three-year period. Seismic wave data and waveforms recorded during this period were analyzed to evaluate system performance. The results confirmed the potential for MEMS accelerometer modules to serve as an alternative to traditional structural health monitoring (SHM) systems. These modules offer cost advantages and high scalability, making it easier to adjust measurement points as needed. The findings highlight the possibility of broader adoption of SHM systems that incorporate MEMS accelerometers.
