Abstract |
This research examines and compares quality management systems for the factory production phase of modular construction in domestic and international contexts, proposing a framework tailored to South Korea's needs. Recognizing the critical role of factory-level quality assurance in ensuring the reliability of modular buildings, the study integrates principles from ISO 9001:2015 and Canada's CSA A277 standards to develop a comprehensive management system. The proposed framework encompasses material procurement, assembly, inspection, and documentation processes, employing third-party certification and the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle to enhance objectivity and continuous improvement. Expert evaluations confirm the system's feasibility and effectiveness, highlighting its potential to standardize quality and bolster consumer trust in modular construction. Future steps include legislative support, pilot testing, and the incorporation of automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency. By adopting this system, South Korea's modular construction industry is poised to achieve global competitiveness while delivering consistent and reliable building quality. |
