Abstract Although the number of wooden structures has increased, there are no clear seismic performance standards for wooden structures, and there is a lack of traditional wooden structure data using steel joint, so it is time to quantify them through various experiments. Therefore, the joint method and joint hardware mentioned in the wood structure standard were applied, and based on this, L-type and T-type experiments for each wood structure type were produced to examine the joint performance. In the case of Korean traditional timber house, it was confirmed that the performance difference between the L-type and T-type experiments was less than twice as much by the joint method of the beam, and in the case of new-styled Korean traditional timber house and heavy timber frame structure, the performance difference between the L-type and T-type experiments was more than twice as much by the joint hardware. In addition, for heavy wood structure bonding hardware, there is a risk of fragile breakage in case of large deformation. Based on this, it is judged that it can be used as a variable value for setting a wooden structure history model when evaluating seismic performance in the future.
