| Abstract |
Since 2000, contemporary architecture and hanok have been combined in various ways and have been reborn contemporary hanok. Among
them, the number of contemporary hanoks in which madang, which used to be an external space, has been turned into an internal space is
increasing. This study starts with the hypothesis that this ‘indoorization of madang’ was sparked by various architectural constraints.
Therefore, the purpose of this study is to consider how ‘indoorization of madang’ is being practiced and to discuss the ‘constraints sparking
creativity’ that exist here. To this end, this study analyzed ‘Samcheong hanok’, ‘Hakgojae Gallery’, ‘Cheonyeon hanok’, and ‘Ikseon hanok
village & Le Blanseu’, where the indoorization of madang was realized. As a result, it was possible to understand the way of ‘indoorization
of madang’, and to apprehend the structural and spatial characteristics and laws of hanok exist in the background where this was sparked. |
