Abstract The purpose of this study is to explore the design elements of adolescent mental health healing spaces from a neuroarchitectural point of view and to derive a theoretical framework. Using academic databases such as PubMed and Scopus, four axes of sensory stimulation (light, sound, and color), natural connection (biophilic, natural lighting, green space), space composition (privacy, community, movement line), psychological and behavioral support (rest meditation, interaction, and program connection) were selected as upper topics, and 12 sub-themes were derived. It was confirmed that sensory elements such as light, sound, and color promote emotional stability through serotonin and cortisol control, and that biophilic design, natural lighting, and green space connection support psychological recovery. In addition, it was found that the connection of spatial composition such as privacy, community, and movement lines promotes stress reduction and minimization through a sense of safety and cognitive recovery, and the connection of psychological and behavioral support such as rest meditation, interaction, and program connection supports relaxation and comprehensive healing through anxiety relief and conversation induction. This study presented a hypothetical relationship model with the promotion of adolescent mental health and proposed guidelines for schools and counseling spaces. This is expected to lay the theoretical foundation for the interdisciplinary convergence of neuroarchitecture and youth mental health, and contribute to the development of a practically sustainable healing space, while research on the design of a healing space for adolescents is rare. However, it has limitations as a systematic literature review, and it is necessary to quantify the effect through empirical research in the future.
