| Abstract |
This study attempts to reconstruct the appearance of the sangryang-ceremony(上樑儀) in the official building works conducted in the Joseon
Dynasty.18 sangryang-ceremonies described in the 17 volumes of the " Yonggeon Uigwe " from the 17th to 20th centuries have inherited the
same content as a ceremony for about 260 years, although there are differences in the subject and location. As a result of narrative analysis,
the 18 ceremonies can be categorized into five types, and we have attempted to reconstruct them based on these types. The Joseon Dynasty
created " Uigwe " for the five rites -religious(吉禮), auspicious(嘉禮), diplomatic(賓禮), military(軍禮),funeral(凶禮)ones and passed them
down to future generations so that they could be reproduced. However, architectural rites did not belong to any of the five, and only the
simple steps of the ritual were passed on to the next. On the other hand, in the " Sinyeon Uigwe (進宴儀軌)," which recorded banquets at
palace forfeitures, in addition to more detailed procedures, a diagram showing the banquet scene was recorded, and in the " GukJoOreSore
(國朝五禮序禮)," a diagram of the layout of the rituals held at the mausoleum can be confirmed, and from both of these it was found that
there are expressions common to the sangryang-ceremony. This study presented a new aspect of the sangryang-ceremony. |
